Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Staff of San Pasqual Valley High School,
As a long-time educator in our local community, I am proud to be part of the San Pasqual Valley Unified School District as the 2024-2025 High School Principal. For the past 26 years, I have been involved with public education at various levels. My undergraduate work focused on meeting the diverse needs of special education students with various types of cognitive, adaptive and emotional disabilities. As a graduate student, I studied Bilingual/Multicultural Education. My background in knowledge and experience affords me a wide lens to observe systems and critical issues from multiple perspectives. It also provides me with a resourceful toolbox to access when developing and implementing strategic plans for school improvement. I chose to join San Pasqual Valley High School, because I believe all students are capable of success, no exceptions. It is this mentality and approach with our school community that I wish to provide effective leadership and support.
This school year we will continue our work with improving our response to student need and intervention with the refinement of our MTSS structures in: Academics, Social-Emotional Learning and Behavior Intervention. We will also work together to develop a strong commitment and improved school culture to the overarching mission of “...empowering and inspiring all students to become productive citizens in the global community...” I am excited to join SPVHS as principal and look forward to our developing partnership throughout this school year.
We will accomplish this by aiming our efforts towards three specific goals:
- Increase our graduation rate to greater than 90% by June 9, 2025.
- Increase our achievement scores on CAASPP by 10% in English Language Arts and Math by May 2025.
- Decrease chronic absenteeism from 26% to less than 20% this school year by June 9, 2025.
Sincerely,
Ana Noriega
